PLEASANTVILLE – Come sing with Westchester’s highly acclaimed community chorus, Hudson Chorale.  The group is welcoming new members in all voice parts (SATB) to join them for an exciting concert program that will appeal to choral singers of a wide range of musical preferences. Singer-friendly auditions will begin on Monday, January 27, 2019, by appointment, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm, prior to the first rehearsal.  Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings from 7:15 – 9:45 pm at the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, 400 Bedford Rd, Pleasantville, NY.  For additional information or to schedule an audition, contact Jeanne Wygant at JeanneWygant@optonline.net or call 914-478-0074.
Hudson Chorale selects its programs from a wide range of choral styles, from great oratorios to gospel. Recent concerts have featured works by composers including Haydn, Brahms, Bruckner, Mendelssohn, Faure, Stravinsky, Bartok, Gershwin and Bernstein. The second half of the chorus’s 2019-2020 season culminates on May 30 & 31, 2020, with a program entitled, “Our Hudson Valley Heritage,” featuring music by Ralph Vaughan Williams (English), Adrianus Valerius (Dutch), and Daniel Pinkham (American), plus English and American folk songs and hymns.
Artistic Director Maestro Ira Spaulding is a choral conductor, singer and master class instructor whose career spans 40 years of performance in more than 60 countries.  He is currently Professor of Vocal and Choral Music at City College of New York and maintains a career abroad as a singer, teacher and conductor.
