PORT JERVIS – The 4th Annual Women’s March in Port Jervis is taking place on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 31 Main St Port Jervis, NY 12771. The local theme is Justice & Unity for All Families; Building a bigger table.

“The Women’s March of Port Jervis believes support for our community’s marginalized members uplifts and improves the community as a whole. By being involved and demonstrating our compassion and love for one another, each of us can challenge our nation’s current divisiveness and support all families.” says organizer Margaret Spring of Deerpark. “We’re hoping for a terrific turn-out, this is a family-friendly event.” In past years the Women’s March in Port Jervis has seen attendance range from 200-300 people.

Women’s March 2020 is being held this month.

The event begins at 10:00 am with a CommUNITY Fair taking place before the March inside St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Representatives from local organizations providing support to vulnerable people within our region will share information on their services and how attendees can get involved. At 11:45 we gather in the sanctuary to listen to local speakers share their experiences and how everyday people can unite to make real positive change in our communities. At approximately 12:)) pm we meet outside St. Peter’s to peacefully march the mile loop through downtown Port Jervis before returning back to the church.

The Women’s March is an empowering family-friendly event bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to call attention to women’s issues as everyone’s issues and that Women’s Rights are Human Rights.
