TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Forklift fell off a truck at 90 Crystal Run Road in the Town of Wallkill around 5:30 Wednesday evening spilling an estimated 12 gallons of sulfuric acid from a battery combined with hydraulic fluid, Mechanicstown Fire Chief Mike Palmer said.

The liquid spilled onto the road, but Orange County Hazmat was called in and neutralized it, the chief said.

There were no injuries, but the forklift was damaged, he said.
