NEW CITY – The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office is investigating an incident early Saturday morning in which Spring Valley Police officers came in contact with a woman, and after an altercation, later died.
DA Thomas Walsh II has notified the state Attorney General’s Office as per a state executive order requiring notification anytime a person dies when in contact with police.
Walsh said the woman had a medical episode after the altercation with officers and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern where she died Sunday night.
“This investigation is ongoing and multiple agencies are participating in this case,” said Walsh.
