Mom Regina and Dad Nicholas admire their new son, Kieran, born on New Year's day afternoon at the Mary's Avenue Campus of HealthAlliance in Kingston

KINGSTON – The first baby born in Ulster County in 2020 is a boy delivered at 4:04 p.m. on New Year’s Day at HealthAlliance Mary’s Avenue Campus in Kingston.

Kieran Miles Mahone Doyle was born to Regina Mahone, 37, and Nicholas Doyle, 33, of Kingston. Kieran weighed eight pounds and was 20 inches at birth. Both mother and baby are doing well.

“We were blown away by the incredible attentive care we got,” Doyle said in the hospital’s Family Birth Place Wednesday evening after Kieran was born. “HealthAlliance had everything we were looking for in a place to have a baby, from the childbirth-education classes and other resources to the fact that the hospital is Baby Friendly.’ And everything that happened here – every experience we had with every nurse, resident, respiratory therapist, the entire birth center – validated the rightness of our decision to have our baby here.”
