Port Jervis man charged with stabbing another man

PORT JERVIS – An early morning disturbance inside a residence in Port Jervis early Tuesday morning, December 31, 2019 resulted in one man stabbing another.

City Police said Charles Nay, 61, of Port Jervis was charged with felonies of assault and criminal possession of a weapon and a misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.

Detectives allege Nay stabbed a 39-year-old Port Jervis man with a large kitchen knife causing a stab wound to his upper torso. The assault allegedly took place in the presence of a seven-month-old infant.

The victim was transported to Bon Secours Community Hospital where he was treated for the stab wound.

Nay was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
