SAUGERTIES – The year that is coming to a close marked the 150th anniversary of the Saugerties Lighthouse on the Hudson River.
While the milestone was being celebrated all year-long, plans are in the works for a major construction project in the early spring. That will entail replacing the stationary dock, which will be designed to withstand floods and ice floes.
The Lighthouse Conservancy said unforeseen delays have added to the cost of the project so they are in need of tax-deductable donations.
