YONKERS – Mayor Michael Spano has appointed Brendan McGrath as a new Yonkers city court judge. He currently serves as the city’s inspector general.

McGrath has been in public service for close to 30 years, serving at the state, county and city levels.

He was inspector general since 2014 where he was the city’s watchdog, overseeing independent audits and investigations to ensure the integrity of city conduct.

Prior to that post, McGrath served as deputy corporation counsel for the city, as counsel in the Office of the Westchester County Attorney and New York State Assembly, and as deputy Westchester County clerk.

McGrath will fill the post left vacant by Judge Mary Anne Scatteratico-Naber, who was elected to Westchester County Family Court.

He will run for a full 10-year term in the November 2020 election.
