Four arrested in murder of Chester man

CHESTER – State Police have arrested four people on murder charges in connection with the death of Michael Partridge, 28, of Chester, whose body was discovered by a passing motorist on North Hudson Street in the Village of Chester around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18.

Partridge had been severely beaten and bound and was pronounced dead at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill.

Investigation on Thursday led to the arrests of four people on murder charges – Seth Pelsang, 30, of Goshen, Timothy Smith, 36, of Goshen, Courtney Clemenza, 31, of Chester, and Robert Haskell, 54, of Goshen.

All four were remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.

The investigation is continuing by State Police, Village of Chester Police, Town of Goshen Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at 845-344-5300.

It is believed the homicide was an isolated incident and there is no reason to believe that a danger exists to public safety, police said.
