ALBANY – Governor Cuomo has vetoed Senator David Carlucci’s toll payer protection act for the second time and the fellow Democrat is not happy about it.

Carlucci (D, Nanuet) said the measure would look out for motorists, particularly since cashless tolling has become more prevalent.

“My office has turned into the customer service line for EZ-Pass because they are not getting the job done and the toll payer protection act would have put in place many protections for toll payers and allowed them a process that if they felt they were unfairly charged to be able to work that out,” he said.

Carlucci said he has seen motorists hit with $1,000 bills because they were unaware of toll payment schedules and fines.
