GOSHEN – Pretty soon all emergency services organizations in Orange County will be able to communicate across one radio system platform.

County Executive Steven Neuhaus told the Orange County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday that the system is currently being developed and installed. “We’re picking up the tab – all the county taxpayers – and every community from the City of Newburgh to the City of Middletown to Orange County are getting new radio systems that are all on the same wavelength. We put new towers up around the county to help improve communication,” he said.

The project is part of a national program for first responders on all levels to be able to talk to one another on the same radio frequencies.
