ALBANY – A City of Hudson man pled guilty on Wednesday to accessing a child pornography website available only through an anonymous internet network.

As part of his plea in federal court in Albany, Brian Northrup, 28, admitted that in 2015, he accessed Playpen, an online forum through which registered users advertised, viewed and distributed child pornography.

Images and videos shared through the site were highly categorized according to victim age and gender, and type of sexual activity depicted.

Northrup admitted that he had logged into Playpen in order to access its child pornography content.

He faces up to 10 years in prison when sentenced in April 2020 as well as five years to life as a registered sex offender.

The case was investigated by the FBI and is being prosecuted by Assistant US Attorney Emmet O’Hanlon.
