KINGSTON – A new family-oriented New Year’s Eve celebration will be held on Tuesday, December 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Andy Murphy Neighborhood Center at 467 Broadway, Mayor Steven Noble announced on Monday. The event will be held in lieu of an evening outdoor event this year.

In addition to a special Kids Countdown as the clock strikes noon, the family-friendly event will include a dance party and music provided by My Kingston Kids and games and activities offered by the YMCA of Kingston, City of Kingston Parks and Recreation, and the City’s Office of Health and Wellness. Attendees will enjoy a free lunch sponsored by Family of Woodstock, Inc. and prepared in the newly renovated kitchen at the City’s Everette Hodge Community Center.

“I can’t think of a better way to ring in the next decade than with the children of our community,” said Noble. “I encourage residents and visitors looking to enjoy a safe night out to patronize our many local venues and restaurants throughout the city who are hosting evening celebrations. On behalf of the City of Kingston, we wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday season!”
