SPRING VALLEY – For the second night in a row, police in Spring Valley are investigating a violent assault.

Police at the scene called it a random attack on a young man who was waiting for a friend in his pickup truck in a Route 59 parking lot shortly before 9 p.m.

They are calling it a random attack; they don’t believe the victim was targeted. They said he was approached by four men and was assaulted by one of them. The victim was reportedly shot.

The man was transported to Montefiore Nyack Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Just the night before, Saturday night, police said a 19-year-old man was found shot on Dwight Avenue in Hillcrest. He was reportedly in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center.
