WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Friday to 21 years in state prison with five years of post-release supervision on his guilty plea to manslaughter in the beating death of his toddler son.
On April 16, 2018, Lloyd Scott, 37, was alone with his two-year-old son while the boy’s mother was at work. During that time, he subjected the child to blunt force trauma on his body, put him in bed, and when the child’s mother came home from work, told her the boy was sleeping.
She checked on the child and found he was not breathing and was covered in bruises all over his face and torso.
Scott drove the mother and child to the hospital and the toddler was pronounced dead.
Scott fled in her car and was apprehended later that night.
An autopsy determined the child had been beaten to death,
