NEW PALTZ – The New Paltz Central School District Board of Education has appointed Dr. Bernard Josefsberg as interim superintendent. He will assume the post on December 18, 2019, and is expected to serve through June 30, 2020, during which time the board will conduct a search for a permanent replacement for the retiring Superintendent Maria Rice.
Josefsberg has over 45 years of experience in education including more than 11 years as a superintendent of schools.
The school board, meeting on Wednesday, also appointed Donald Gottlieb as interim assistant superintendent for business and Sharifa Carbon as assistant superintendent for business.
