State of emergency declared in Upper Hudson/Capital regions

KINGSTON – Governor Andrew Cuomo came to Ulster County Monday to announce a state of emergency in the area where the storm has hit the hardest.

The seven counties are in the northern Hudson-Capital region. “Ulster County, Schenectady County, Saratoga, Rensselaer, Greene County, Columbia and Albany County; a declaration of emergency allows more flexibility for the state government working with the local governments to make sure we can deploy resources where they need deploy resources,” the governor said.

Ulster County Executive Patrick Ryan and Kingston Mayor Steven Noble joined the governor at a briefing where they expressed the accomplishments of teamwork in handling the storm.
