Mount Vernon man guilty on weapons charges

WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man was found guilty in Westchester County Court on Monday of three counts of criminal possession of a weapon as felonies.

The jury in the case before Judge David Zuckerman convicted Richard Johnson, 37, of Mount Vernon for possessing a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun with the serial number defaced.

Johnson was arrested at the scene on August 16, 2018.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
