LAGRANGE – At approximately 1:40 p.m. Tuesday a panic alarm was activated on the campus of Arlington High School.  Protocol dictated that the school be placed in a lockdown.

The School Resource Officer has been joined by approximately 18 members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and at least two New York State troopers at the Route 55 campus.

Police radio traffic has indicated that there is no “apparent” reason for the alarm.  Law enforcement, working in teams of two, are currently clearing the building on a room-by-room basis.  The campus is closed to outside traffic until the lockdown is lifted.
Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
