POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro has announced that county offices, including DMV will open at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
To further complicate traffic conditions on Market Street in Poughkeepsie, the contractor for Central Hudson is performing snow removal at their block-long construction project.
Central Hudson is replacing gas lines on Market Street between the eastbound arterial and Main Street. The project requires the digging up of the street. Efforts have been delayed today as loaders and backhoes remove snow from the area and load it into trucks to be hauled away. Substantial traffic delays are a result of this project.
Many visitors and business owners along the section of Market Street have expressed their displeasure with the project. “It’s a mess. Central Hudson could have picked a better time for this project,” said Mel Forshaw of Poughkeepsie.
