MID-HUDSON – With snow, sleet and freezing rain blanketing the area, preparations are in the works for even more snow tomorrow. Several municipalities have declared snow emergencies.
The inclement weather means an extended Thanksgiving holiday weekend for some.
Schools announced Sunday evening that they would not be open on Monday. The Warwick Valley Central,, Minisink Valley, New Paltz, Livingston Manor, Marlboro school districts and Poughkeepsie, Beacon, Port Jervis, Middletown, Newburgh and Kingston City School Districts announced no classes because of the impending accumulation of snow, which could be as much as seven inches or more by the time it all ends Monday evening.

Metro-North is planning to run normal service on Monday, but will continuously monitor conditions ahead of the storm. They will be ready to deploy specialized equipment as the conditions worsen. This includes 220 snowblowers, 70 pickup truck plows, and over 1,800 ice scrapers.
Poughkeepsie City Hall is closed on Monday. Emergency personnel and crews will continue in operation.
