Hurley man charged with recklessly endangering woman in domestic incident

HURLEY – A 55-year-old Hurley man has been charged with reckless endangerment and menacing following a domestic incident in the town around 6:45 p.m. on November 24.

Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic dispute in the town and arrested Samuel Sawyer III following investigation.

Sawyer allegedly drove his vehicle while the victim was on the hood. He is also alleged to have driven the car toward the victim while she was standing in the roadway, nearly striking her.

Sawyer was arraigned and released to reappear at a later date. An order of protection was also issued on behalf of the victim.
