Rockland County man arrested in connection with four bank robberies

WHITE PLAINS – A Rockland County man is in federal lockup following his arrest on Tuesday in connection with four bank robberies in Rockland, Dutchess and Bergen counties.

Yosef Ziegler, 29, of Airmont, faces up to 25 years in federal prison if convicted.

A federal complaint alleges that he robbed a bank in Pomona on January 24, 2019 by announcing he had a bomb. He demanded that employees empty the bank vault and he made off with $76,000 in cash.

On April 17, 2019, it is alleged he entered a bank in Park Ridge, New Jersey, announced he had a bomb and made off with $30,150.

On June 25, 2019, he allegedly went into a bank in Wappingers Falls, said he had a bomb, and stole $22,500.

On October 29, 2019, Ziegler allegedly entered a bank in Fishkill wielding what appeared to be a firearm and demanded cash from the vault. He stole $105,000 in cash.

The investigation that led to Ziegler’s arrest was conducted by the FBI Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force, FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, FBI Newark Division, Bergen County PRosecutor’s Office, Ramapo Town Police, Fishkill Town Police, New York State Police, and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.
