MAYBROOK – Interstate 84 eastbound between the Town of Wallkill and Maybrook was shut down early this morning following an accident at the exit 5 ramps that involved between seven and eight vehicles.

The accident was first reported around 3:30 this morning.

About a half hour later, I-84 at the Town of Wallkill connections to Route 17, were closed to traffic as one dispatcher reported the highway would be shut down for several hours.

The crash appeared to involve a Maybrook exit sign being replaced with the new numbering system.
