TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Walden man was arrested on Thursday in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on November 1 at 9:50 at night.

State Police said a minor arrived in the emergency room with a stab wound to the abdomen. He was uncooperative and refused to tell the troopers what happened.

The victim was advised that he would need surgery. Afterwards he agreed to talk to State Police investigators and said he was wresting with his friend, Joseph

Thompson III, 19, of Walden and that Thompson had become agitated, pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen.

Investigation revealed that Thompson had left the area and attempted to hide the knife and a bloody bandana, both of which were later recovered.

State Police at Montgomery arrested Thompson on Thursday, November 21 and charged him with felony assault and misdemeanors of criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with physical evidence.

Thompson was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond and an order of protection was issued.
