Stolen credit card use leads to arrest

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Police have arrested 31-year-old Tyrell McKinney of Poughkeepsie as a result of an investigation into the use of stolen credit cards.

Police say that McKinney used stolen credit cards in June, July, and September to obtain goods at multiple businesses in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  During that same period, police allege that McKinney used stolen personal information to create forged credit cards that he also used for purchases.

McKinney was arrested on Wednesday and arraigned on two felony counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and two felony counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument, along with the misdemeanor charge of Identity Theft.

According to Town of Poughkeepsie Police Captain Michael O’Dowd, McKinney was remanded to Dutchess County Jail on a $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
