LAGRANGE – A 54-year-old Putnam Valley man was killed when his motorcycle was struck in LaGrange around 5 p.m. on Monday, November 11.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Mark Graff, who was operating a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of East Noxon Road and South Cross Road in LaGrange.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Graff was operating his cycle eastbound on East Noxon Road when he attempted to make a left turn onto South Cross Road.

While making the turn, the motorcycle was stuck by a 2004 Mercury Sable driven by Matthew Brubacher, 32, of LaGrange. He was uninjured in the crash.

Graff was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie where he pronounced dead.

No charged have been filed at this time.

The investigation is continuing by the sheriff’s office crash investigation unit and the primary factor in the fatal crash is considered to be failure to yield the right of way on the part of the motorcyclist.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the LaGrange Fire Department.
