House fire quickly extinguished in Beacon

BEACON – It took firefighters only 15 minutes to knock down a house fire at 25 Church Street in the City of Beacon late Monday night.

When firefighters arrived on the scene around 11:24 p.m., flames were shooting out windows. A second alarm was called in and the blaze was quickly controlled.

All occupants were able to get out of the house before the fire department arrived.

Fishkill and Castle Point fire departments and the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division assisted on the scene along with Beacon Volunteer Ambulance, EMStar, and Beacon Police.

The Rombout and Glenham fire departments relocated equipment on standby in the city.

The cause was not immediately known and there were no reported injuries.
