MIDDLETOWN – Governor Cuomo has started the ball rolling into the creation of a statewide veterans’ cemetery.
That has gained the immediate support of Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther (D, Forestburgh) who said it is long overdue.
She knows where she would like it located. “I would like to see it in our community and I think it is a great location in the fact that we are 90 miles north of New York City and I think it is time that we did this in New York State,” she said.
Funding for a cemetery would have to be included in a state budget, said Gunther, but she doesn’t see that as a problem.
