GOSHEN – Thursday’s naturalization ceremony in Goshen took on a special meaning for Orange County Clerk Annie Rabbitt, who administered the oath of allegiance to the new U.S. citizens.

Among the new Americans was Joana Rabbitt, her daughter-in-law, wife of Rabbitt’s son, Robert, who is an Orange County deputy sheriff.

Joana came to the United States in 1998 with her parents and brother.

New citizen Bridget Richardson, a recording and index clerk in the county clerk’s office, delivered the keynote speech. She is a native of Guyana.

Orange County Court Judge Craig Stephen Brown presided over the ceremony.
