KIAMESHA LAKE – Empire Resorts, with owns Resorts World Catskills casino, posted a third-quarter operating loss of $26.4 million, according to its latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company, which also operates nearby Monticello Raceway, posted revenues of $69.5 million for the quarter with operating costs of $79.2 million.
The loss was down from $33.9 million in the third quarter of 2018.
In the nine-month period this year, the company lost $100.1 million, up from the $97.2 million during the same period in 2018.
The Malaysian company that holds the majority of the stock of Empire Resorts has offered to purchase the remaining shares and keep the operation in business.
