FISHKILL – Hudson Place at Fishkill is the first of 18 housing projects under development by Long Island-based Farrell Communities. The partnership of Joe Farrell and Stephen Zagoren will see some 1,500 market rate, upscale apartments constructed in Dutchess and Orange Counties.

Zagoren said the Mid-Hudson is the new frontier for luxury apartment development.

“Everything we were watching was telling me that it is kind of the next logical, with some nice communities, to come into north of Westchester and Rockland; pricing a little bit better, a lot of opportunities for young marries as well as retired people,” he said.

Hudson Place at Fishkill at 75 Jackson Street includes 24 two-bedroom apartments, a restored two-story carriage house and one single-family house.

They are also in various stages of development for projects in the Town of Newburgh, Town of Wallkill, New Windsor, Beacon and Wappinger.

The firm currently has two projects almost completed in the Town of Newburgh totaling 280 apartments, including a 55-and-old opportunity.

They are also planning to develop 116 apartment units on a former farm across from William Carter Elementary School on East Main Street in the Town of Wallkill.
