TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police converged on the Galleria at Crystal Run after 9 on Tuesday night when a shopper reported hearing gunshots – two and then another eight.
Police spoke with a number of other shoppers in the area of the movie theater and gym business who said they heard no gunfire.
One store employee said the sound was a car backfiring while driving around the parking lot.
As a precaution, police conducted interior and exterior sweeps of the mall with negative results.
