Yonkers man charged with attempted murder of deputy US marshal

WHITE PLAINS – Authorities charged a Yonkers man with attempted murder of a federal law enforcement officer.

October 18 during a joint operation of the US Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and local law enforcement, Michael Carbon, 29, allegedly wielded knives in both hands and attempted to stab arresting officers include a special deputy US marshal who was stabbed. That officer was treated at a nearby hospital for his injuries.

Carbon was also charged with using a deadly weapon to interfere with the performance of a federal officer’s official duties. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Carbon had been sought on a Yonkers City Court bench warrant.
