Homeless Peekskill man sentenced in Christmas Day stabbing

WHITE PLAINS – A homeless Peekskill man was sentenced in Westchester County Court to nine years in state prison.

Antonio Alvarez, 49, was sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit on his guilty plea to first-degree assault.

On December 25, 2018 at 10 p.m., Alvarez was in a deli on South Street in the City of Peekskill with several other men when an altercation broke out.

Alvarez attacked another man and stabbed him in the neck with a knife.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and survived.
