Ellenville couple arrested for selling fentanyl laced heroin and pure fentanyl

ELLENVILLE – The Ulster County Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team has arrested two Ellenville residents following a long-term investigation into the sales of fentanyl laced heroin and pure fentanyl in the Ellenville area.

Matthew Deas, and Erika Casiano, both 30, were each charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance as well as misdemeanors of criminally using drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child.

The charges follow execution of a search warrant at 9 Warrant Street in the Village of Ellenville around 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police seized heroin and fentanyl along with packaging materials.

An infant present at the location at the time of the warrant search was safely removed.

Deas was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond while Casiano was remanded in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

URGENT was assisted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s patrols, Village of Ellenville Police, State Police at Wawarsing and Ulster County Child Protective Services.
