POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff’s PBA and the State Troopers PBA have both endorsed Republican Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro for re-election.

The Dutchess County union consists of over 100 patrol deputies, school resource officers, civil deputies, detectives, and supervisors.

Molinaro “has been a champion of public safety and the men and women of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Division for over 20 years starting when he was a young mayor of Tivoli,” said Detective Rich Brenner, the organization’s president.

The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers has “known and worked alongside Mr. Molinaro since his days in Albany as a state assemblyman,” said organization president Thomas Mungeer. “He has proven to us that in whatever elected position he holds that he is a strong supporter of our troopers and all law enforcement.”

Molinaro, who is seeking his third term as county executive, faces a challenge by Democrat Joseph Ruggiero.
