WALDEN – A Walden couple are the winners in the September 12 Cash4Life drawing of the New York State Lottery.
Jon and Deborah Hansen have opted to take a one-time lump sum payment and will each receive a net check for $2.35 million after required withholdings.
Jon summed up the feeling of winning the Lottery in one word, “Surreal.”
When he realized he had hit the jackpot, he put the ticked away “in a safe deposit box for safety.”
The couple was presented with a ceremonial check for $7 million at the Stewart’s Shop in Walden where he bought the ticket. The Lottery’s Yolanda Vega had the honor of introducing the couple to the public at the shop on Wednesday.
The winning Cash4Life numbers in the September 12 drawing were 10-15-35-42-54 Cash Ball 03.
“We’ll use the winnings to travel and enjoy it with our family,” said Jon Hansen.
