GOSHEN – A Town of Newburgh man has been indicted on 39 counts following his arrest after a New Windsor apartment break-in last month that left a young woman shot to death.

An Orange County grand jury indicted Cornelius Stubbs, 48, on two counts of stalking, four counts of coercion, 22 counts of criminal contempt, rape, stalking, menacing, three harassment, two counts of aggravated harassment, and three counts of unlawful imprisonment.

Stubbs was arraigned before County Court Judge Robert Freehill and remanded to the county jail without bail.

Police are continuing to investigate the home invasion of an apartment at Knox Village Apartments in New Windsor in which Chelsea Debidin, 21, of Walden was shot and killed. Her boyfriend was wounded in the arm.
