CENTRAL VALLEY – The manager of the Tory Burch women’s accessories store in Woodbury Common was killed late yesterday afternoon in a freak accident when he was pinned between a rental truck and a loading dock at the Central Valley outlet mall.

Woodbury Town Police Lt. Kevin Phillips said the victim, Hadram Castillo, 40, of New York City, had driven with a store associate to their off-site merchandise storage locker in New Windsor Tuesday afternoon.

Castillo backed the truck up to the loading dock and when he got out, he realized it was too close to open the tailgate so he asked his associate, a resident of the Town of Newburgh, to pulled the truck forward.

The vehicle went backwards instead, pinning Castillo between the truck and the building, causing a severe gash in his upper leg.

A medic, who was shopping at the mall, administered first aid along with local ambulance personnel. Castillo was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 5:50 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation by police.
