LOCH SHELDRAKE – A suspicious four-alarm fire in the old Grandview Palace Hotel on Route 52 in Loch Sheldrake Wednesday evening brought out firefighters from the area.

Assistant Fire Chief Pete Carey said the fire was contained to one room and its contents.

“The building is unoccupied,” Carey said. “It has been vacant since the last big fire and we don’t know how the fire started. Nobody was around. It is under investigation at this time.”

In the spring 2012, a major blaze destroyed most of the hotel leaving it unoccupied.
