News Update… New Windsor woman second homicide victim in three weeks

NEW WINDSOR – Police are investigating a homicide that they initially called an “unattended death” in the area of 78 Vails Gate Heights Drive at South Gate Village Apartments.

New Windsor Police identified the victim as Deborah Waldinger, 32, of New Windsor whose body was found when a maintenance worker entered an apartment at South Gate at 8:21 a.m. on Wednesday.

New Windsor Police are working with the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and their Major Crimes Unit, along with their Forensic Investigations Unit, the FBI and their Safe Streets Task Force, the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

A source close to this latest case said it appears the woman died from blunt force trauma.

On September 21, Chelsea Debidin, 21, of Walden, was shot and killed while in a Knox Village, New Windsor apartment with her boyfriend. He was wounded in the gunfire.
