ALBANY – A Stuyvesant man was sentenced Friday to 35 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting a child and possessing child pornography.
Senior US District Judge Norman Mordue ordered that the sentencing for John Stroming, 60, run consecutively to a state term of imprisonment Stroming is serving. His federal sentence should begin in 2-27, when Stroming’s state sentence is scheduled to end.
Stroming was convicted in May 2019 following a two-day trial.
The evidence showed that he videotaped himself abusing a 19-month-old and that he also possessed child pornography involving other children.
At the time of the crimes, Stroming was required to register as a sex offender.
He has sex offense convictions including for rape in 2011 and promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child in 1999.
