Amparo wins by one vote

POUGHKEEPSIE – In the closest election race this year, Dutchess County Legislator Francena Amparo won re-election to her District 14 seat by one vote.
She defeated challenger Lisa Paoloni in a vote tally of 1,222 to 1,221, which was certified by the Dutchess County Board of Elections this past Friday.
“It wasn’t easy,” Amparo said on Facebook.
She ran on the Democrat and Women’s Equality Party lines. Paoloni ran on the Republican and Conservative party lines.
In another close race, District 19 County Legislator Gregg Pulver defeated Richard Hermans by 35 votes, 1,695 1,660. Pulver ran on the Republican, Conservative and Independence party lines. Hermans was on the Democrat and Working Family Party lines.
