Two shootings under investigation in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE – Police in New Rochelle are trying to determine if two gun incidents, one in which a man was wounded, are related.

At 11:48 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, police responded at 361 Main Street on a report of shots fire. Officers found three spent 9 mm shell casings and a bullet impact on the maintenance doors at that address.

An hour later, at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 29, officers responded to a private home on a report of shots fired. A man had suffered a superficial wound to his leg.

The victim told authorities that while he was sitting outside, he was approached by three men. One struck him on the head with a gun. He fled into his house and heard one or two more gunshots and when he got inside, he realized he had been shot.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
