DEERPARK – Two teens, ages 15 and 16, were injured Sunday afternoon when the quad they were on struck a tree at a high rate of speed, Deerpark Town Police Chief Richard Sztyndor said on Monday.
The boys sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries, he said.
The youths were operating the quad near 206 Kennel Road in Deerpark when it struck a tree at about 2:40 p.m.
One teen was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center and the other was treated at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, the chief said.
