Man charged with stealing key fob and taking off with BMW

ORANGETOWN – A New City man is charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

Monday, September 23 at 8:45 p.m., Michel Heidtman, 38, allegedly entered Vision Sports Club in Pearl River, went into the men’s locker room and took a set of keys containing a fob to a 2013 BMW. He then went into the parking lot, found the vehicle and drove it away.

Orangetown Police transmitted a stolen vehicle alarm and on the following day around 2:30 a.m., a state trooper on patrol spotted the car at the Tappan Zee Hotel on Route 303 in West Nyack.

Heidtman faces charges in Clarkstown.

He was sent to the Rockland County Jail.
