Mountaintop brush fire seen for miles

DUTCHESS JUNCTION – A large brush fire atop Sugarloaf Mountain at Breakneck Ridge could be seen across the Hudson River in Cornwall Friday evening.

Bright orange flames shot into the air as area firefighters and forest rangers battled the blaze.

The cause of the fire at the summit of the mountain was not immediately known.
