TOWN OF WALLKILL – Cornerstone Family Healthcare’s Middletown facilities are growing and developing to serve the needs of the city’s residents. The not-for-profit agency headquartered in Newburgh assumed the operations of the former Middletown Community Health Center a year ago and is expanding health services.
Cornerstone President Linda Muller told the organization’s first annual community breakfast in the Town of Wallkill on Wednesday that a sizeable grant will enable them to develop a downtown dental office in Middletown.
“We have been awarded a $300,000 grant from the federal government to help transform that building (at 27 North Street) to what it should be – state-of-the-art, new equipment; we are excited to take that dental facility, which is on three levels. We have an elevator for access. We will build something that is worthy of our patients because they deserve the absolute best,” she said.
Muller talked of other services and facilities Cornerstone operates including the Center for Recovery in Newburgh that assists those with substance and alcohol abuse disorders; Harper House in Newburgh that provides medical and personal hygiene services for the homeless; a new mobile health van; full healthcare services in the Binghamton Public Housing facilities; and soon-to-be announced facilities in the City of Port Jervis.
