KINGSTON – An Ulster County grand jury has indicted a Kingston man in the stabbing death of a homeless man who lived in an area off the traffic circle in the Town of Ulster known as tent city.

Lance Ferguson, 36, is charged with killing Guy Andradez, 59, by stabbing him several times.

But, while the grand jury indicted Ferguson, new information came forward on Tuesday, said Chief Assistant District Attorney Michael Kavanagh.

“We received a report from some psychiatrists who have determined that the defendant is actually incompetent at this point to stand trial so he will be held for observation and we will see what happens moving forward,” he said. “We anticipate having one of our experts evaluate him as well.”

The two men were known to one another at the time of the murder on August 9 of this year.
